This is no big surprise. Knaus is one of the biggest cheaters when it comes to crew chiefs. As much as I do not like Jimmy Johnson, I do believe he's been in the dark about alot of this cheating over the years. And that's because he only knows how to drive -- he's not the old style driver who will get down and work on the cars themselves.
And don't expect NASCAR to do anything about this. If they do, it will mean that all the #48 championships will be in question.

Funny how you end the clip there. Robin Pemberton(VP of competition for Nascar)goes on to explain that this is not a big deal at all and explains what he interpreted these comments to mean. They passed 3 inspections over the weekend and Robin also goes on to say that over the past 5 yrs the 48 car has been inspected at the R&D tech center more than ANY other car in the series and has passed EVERY time. This is a non issue.

Cheating is not a part of Nascar ANYMORE!! It's about the driver and crewchiefs chemistry together and talent.

@constantdewdrinker88 get the fuck out of here with that bs..you would have to be some totally gullible idiot to believe your stupid ass..you can't get caught anymore red handed with their pants down than this. You can try and spin it all you want and make up some bullshit that your not going to get anyone to believe. I think its even funny you tried. FYI it's not the crewchiefs job to cheat anymore that hillbilly crap is over..its about the driver and crewchiefs talent now..GET USED TO IT!

@gracethedog48 So why would he tell them that then? Why would he tell him to deliberately damage his car if he won?

I'm a Jimmie Johnson fan, but this is really suspicious haha. My favorite part is towards the end when Jimmie motions over to the in-car camera, and Chad realizes it was all on tape. Lol.

Ugh.... you guys are so damn stupid. He wanted him to crack the back of the car because he didn't want the car to fail post race inspection due to the bumper being messed up from drafting and not fitting the template. If they got damage during burnout, it would not fail because NASCAR would know that the damage came from after the race.

Jimmie's like lolwut?

lol i loved this. it dont surprise me that they were trying to cheat. Jimmie simply dont have as much talent as alot of other drivers, so he along with his crew chief decide to bend the rules. "Cheating chad", sticks lol

@biagrauser Well whats the point of these "rules" being inforced if they are going to be broken all the time? There put there for a reason eh? And NASCAR always let these guys get away with it all the time. If this was RCR or Roush, they would get a huge fine and the crew chief would get suspended.
They all push the limits don't just hate on Hendrick JGR Roush MWR. All of them! That's what the sport is about. Get off your high horses and shut up. He built the car right to the edge of the tolerances and knocking the ass off it ensures it can't fail, remember it passed an hour before this video was captured.

@supportglobalwarming Yeah i agree with the one hour before the race. But whose to say that he was not going to make an illegal change during the first pitstop.and if the cars are right on the tolerance and done correctly then he should not have had anything to worry about.
