Moving Back Into Your Heart- Jonas Brothers Love Story Chapter 25

Nick led Addison downstairs and out the front door. Nick was still holding Addison's hand and she was leaning her head on his shoulder. They were walking toward the park. They weren't sad, just a little upset.
Nick: he is a jerk.
Addison: maybe...but maybe it's because I'm not pretty enough...or smart enough...
Nick: stop that! You are beautiful and so smart. Greg is stupid and didn't deserve you.
Addison: thanks, you always know what to say.
Nick: well...I am good at everything... (He joked)
Addison playfully hit him in the side and laughed.
Addison:( Addison playfully hit him in the side and laughed.) Is it wrong that I'm not sad about what happened?
Nick: what do you mean?
Addison: (she paused) I'm relieved that Greg cheated on me...I didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore.
Nick: that's not wrong Addie. In fact, I feel the same way about Jen.
Addison: it feels good not to have to worry about Greg anymore.
They were finally at the park and they went and sat by their tree. Nick leaned up against it and smiled.
Addison: what are you smiling about Jonas?
Nick: nothing, just thinking about the time when your boyfriend broke up with you in kindergarten. Do you remember that?
Addison started laughing and fell back onto the grass. She closed her eyes. Nick got on his hands and knees and leaned over her. She opened her eyes and saw Nick there. She smiled and then answered.
Addison: I remember...you punched him after he did. (She laughed again)
Nick: he hurt your feelings (he laughed)... I had to do something!
Addison: you're always have stood up for me.
Nick leaned in closer to Addison's face and almost kissed her. But then he realized that it wasn't the best time, so he kissed her on the cheek instead.
Nick: let's go home Addie.
Addison: okay Nick...let's go home.
Addison got on Nick's back and he gave her a piggy back ride all the way home. They found Joe and Kevin in the living room.
Kevin: how was the double date?
Nick: well... we got to Greg's house and found he and Jen in a... well, in a very compromising position...if you know what I mean.
Kevin: no way! Really?
Joe: what did you do?
Addison: well... Nick told them both off. It was pretty amazing. (She looked at Nick and smiled.) He told them not to call or even to come near us again.
Joe: what did they do?
Addison: they both just stared at Nick like they were afraid.
Nick: I had to...they shouldn't have done that to you.
Kevin: time for bed. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so we need our sleep. That night, Addison lay in bed, unable to sleep. Nick was lying beside her snoring and she just watched him. Addison's thoughts: He looks so cute when he's sleeping. This is the last night that I will get to stay in his bed. My parents are coming home tomorrow and I don't know how I feel about it. I love my parents, but I have grown so much closer to Nick over these past couple of weeks. I can't believe we're Romeo and Juliet...maybe this will be the thing that finally pushes us into each other's arms. And today...what he did standing up for me like that, it was amazing. He is perfect.
Nick rolled over and snuggled close to Addison. He wrapped his arms around her and his curly hair rubbed against Addison's face. Addison smiled widely and snuggled closer to him. She was finally able to get some sleep in Nick's arms.
The next morning, Nick was the first to wake up. He couldn't believe how close he had snuggled to Addison while he was asleep. Now, he was the one smiling. Nick continued to hold her and he watched as her chest rose and fell in a rhythmic pattern. Absentmindedly he started humming the song that he had wrote for her. Addison stirred but didn't wake up. Nick stopped humming and in a few minutes he fell back asleep. They both slept for a long time, but then someone came in to wake them up. Addison's parents had just gotten back and Mr. Grace was making his way up to Nick's room to wake the two up. He opened the door and was not happy with what he saw. Nick and Addison were sleeping very close together. He went over to Nick's side of the bed and stared down at him with his arms crossed over his chest.
Mr. G: Nicholas...Addison...wake up...
Addison and Nick woke up, looked at each other, and smiled. Then they noticed that Mr. Grace was looming over them. They sat up.
Mr. G: you two looked very comfortable. (He said with a stern face, looking at them both questioningly.)
Addison: I guess we got cold or something.
Nick: I'm sorry sir.(He blushed)
Mr. G: let's just make sure that this never happens again.
Nick: yes sir.
Addison: yes daddy.
