South Dakota attempts to de facto ban abortion - The Rachel Maddow Show (May 9th, 2011)

The South Dakota Republicans have decided to pass a new bill which could lead to the de facto banning of abortions in the state. Apparently government should be just big enough to intrude upon a woman's uterus. From the May 9th, 2011 edition of The Rachel Maddow Show.

@Cartoonoldies I'm a man, and when I even THINK about standing up and saying "I know a woman's body better than the woman herself", it makes me a little bit ill. There's a reason why the pro-life movement is largely older men: it's not about protecting babies. It's about punishing women who dare to have sex. The proof is in their rabid opposition to birth control. If you cared about the lives of unborn babies, wouldn't you want to prevent as many unwanted pregnancies as you can?

1. We are pro life and we will kill or wish someone harm if someone wants to have or perform an abortion.

2. We are so pro life we only care about babies but once they are out of the womb they are on their own. No stem cells allowed for study either.

3. We will never adopt or help raise your unwanted child, we just want you to have the child even if it means ruining your life.
