Awesome guitar for the price. With my budget, my choices were Jackson Dinky DXMG (with passive EMG-HZ pickups), Ibanez RGA42T and the RGA42FM. After playing passive pickups for as long as I have played guitar, I really wanted a fat sound of the an active, so the Jackson was out (besides I hear EMG makes crappy passives). All of the Ibanez RGA42s have active pickups and an active EQ switch which scoops out a bit of mids and boosts bass and treble. The only difference between the RGA42T and RGA42FM is that the T models come with a floyd-rose type locking tremolo while the FM has a fixed strings through body gibraltar bridge. I had a look at some videos of tuning and restringing locking tremolo systems and I knew it was definitely not for me. I frequently change from standard tuning to drop d and like to try with different tunings and different gauge strings and I did not want all that hassle of a locking tremolo. Besides I'm not too big on dive-bombs and screeches that people like to do with their tremolos.

  • I really liked this vid! ;)

  • i have same guitar. I love it but when i turn up loud it has horrible feedback sound. I have the noise gate dimed out in my rp500 and it still does it. My washburn with active emg's doesnt do it at all. Has anyone else had similiar problem with these pickups?

  • @7thS0Nofa7thS0N the rga72 has a titanium reniforced neck, thats the only difference except for the fret inlays and the finish

  • Very DT riff (awesome) and awesome sound too!
