@soulismissing you obviously don't realize that rakim said himself that he was a fan of hip hop before he even started too. so there's not "grasshopper" or "master" to compare here. they were both fans first and both their own unique artists. stop the unnecessary comparisons..

@dcos510 that's a lie .. tupac never said he got his "style" from rakim and he didn't, and he never called him the "god" mc as you say. although he did mention him in his song old school and said eric b and rakim was the shit. pac was original. I don't see rakim talking about thug life, or uplifting the black community the same way pac did. rakim's style is more eclectic, pac is more raw. so really you can't compare the two different styles.
