Good video. These should be the baseline questions anyone asks themselves before they make the jump for a PhD (in any discipline).
For me, the question I've been most asking myself lately is from his final statement; rather I'd ultimately be satisfied career-wise with only a M.S., or rather not being able to advance past a certain point would come back to haunt me.
Leaning heavily towards pursuing a PhD as it is now. I only live once, why settle for halfway?

I would say that if you want to manage people and make a good amount of money in the private sector DO NOT get a PhD. There are a few PhD's at the top but it's largely irrelevant at best and at worst you'll be seen as a weakling: an overeducated wuss who cannot intimidate as necessary. You'll be stuck kissing ass of people wjo can't understand even the simplist things you do. It's better to be the ass that's kissed than the other way around.

@youngdones I noticed that my friend. Example I was interested in going into computer science but all the jobs are being pushed overseas and the requirements are heaven stairs. Most CS job need you to know almost every programming language out there and some ungodly experience. Looking into a more mathematical career.

Academic requirements for employers are so stringent, soon you will have to have a masters degree to simply get a job.
