Once stretching 330 million acres, an area twice the size of Texas, the Atlantic Forest of Brazil is one of the world's most extraordinary forests. And yet today, after hundreds of years of deforestation, only seven percent of this biological treasure remains.

Home to jaguars, tamarins and hundreds of bird species found nowhere else on Earth, the Atlantic Forest also provides important economic and health benefits to surrounding communities and cities, including the mega-cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

  • É importante para o mundo, deve ser usada em prol dele, MAS (BUT) ao Brasil pertence e a ele deve ser conferido soberania! O projeto é maravilhoso! Parabéns!!!

  • very interesting. have you got this video in a higher resolution?

  • eu amo a mata atlantica, moro ao lado dela e sei deste conceito da preservação

fico irritado que tem muitos humanos daqui que não intendem deste fato

  • the fellow at the end of the vid sounds just like Jean Claude Van Damme

  • What on earth are you blabbering about? Say something that is coherent and makes sense -- and is truthful. It would mean more.

  • Joe Keenan in jail in Brazil for violence against the natives = 1,000s of humans safe enough to protect the forrest in South America. And instead of sending donations to greedy Keenan and other greedy The Nature Conservancy people real work can be done. And do not give money to Disney- they are really going violent- teaching children the violence in Marvel Comics Disney bought. A big step in distruction of Earth's people

  • I read it on AOL, on the page where I check my email. You are so stuck on believing that anything you or your same-believers do is so right that you cannot believe that Brazil would consider other human beings more important than you few. For being so anti-human you and The Nature Conservancy should be reported to the Humane Society. They have a good way to deal with dogs that harm people.

  • What??? That doesn't sound right. That doesn't sound like something the Nature Conservancy would do. That doesn't sound like something the Brazilian government would do. Maybe you're making it up!

  • Brasil's national government sent in troops to stop The Nature Conservancy from violently forcing the native people off the lands they have lived on for centuries. The government then forced The Nature Conservancy to leave the country. That made The Nature Conservancy unable to fulfill it's contract with The Walt Disney Company.

  • What wonderful thing. Great job and takes very special people who love mother earth and adds so much to this earth..If only there were more who cared as much. The whole world would be a better place..
