COLUMBIA - This is not the first time police have arrested Dalton.
The University of Missouri Football team dismissed third string quarterback Blaine Dalton on Friday.
Police arrested Dalton on April 30, 2009 on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance. They found him with 10 pills of Hydrocodone and alcohol.
The team reinstated him June 2, 2009.
Police arrested him again last night on DWI charges and charges of driving an unlicensed vehicle and failure to drive within a single lane.
Police pulled over number 7 Blaine Dalton at the corner of Hitt and University at 1:16 a.m.
Police captain Brian Weimer will not release the results of the breathalizer test.
According to Dalton's lawyer Bogdan Susan, Dalton posted his $500 bond and officials released him early this morning. Police suspended Dalton's license for 15 days.
According to Susan, Dalton has a court date set for October 8, 2009.
Dalton and Mizzou sophomore Jimmy Costello were competing for the number 2 quarterback position. Since Dalton's dismissal, Costello will now be the primary backup to starter Blaine Gabbert.
Dalton had graduated from Blue Springs South High School early so he could attend MU and participate in Spring practice. He never played a game with Missouri during a football season. The charges were reduced in court and Dalton returned to the team to practice. He participated in a scrimmage Thursday afternoon.
I'm sorry, but this is not a mistake. I had several classes with him in high school. When he showed up (which was less often that he skipped) he was talking constantly about the stuff he was doing. I don't mean to be a dick, but this was bound to happen. This wasn't the first time either.
