  • Gary, how much training a day is too much. I have a golden retriever that I love to spend time with and train. Right now I am doing 2-3 15 minutes sesions during the week and on the weekends I am spending 4-5 hours a day walkiing the river, swimming, upland hunting for pheasant, etc. I try hard to make it fun and during the weekends, I of course am not training the whole, day, but I am worried that I am spending too much time with him. If he is happy and paying attenttion can I continue?

  • Keep the training lessons short and fun so around 10 minutes is fine and you can even do smaller ones of around 5 minutes. Continue with the stuff your doing on the weekend.

  • Thanks Gary, fantastic video! We have adopted a 1 year old labrador who has no training AT ALL and is hard work in the behaviour department. She is an outside dog at present until she can behave and stop jumping up at everyone. Not sure where to start with her training?...or is it too late? :(
