if it's just your dad abusing you then he would be the one that gets in trouble and put in jail with most likely a restraining order between you guys. If your mom is not abusing you and is unaware of your dads abusiveness you will just be in her custody. However if she is aware of him abusing you she can get in trouble too. But it's better that you speak up about it before it's too late to. You need to speak up, for yourself and for your brother.

I reported my child abuse to the NSW police. They were geting off! on the details of my abuse. They don't give a chit! about victims of child abuse.Just like they don't give a shit! about victims of rape! When it's a cop that is the rapist.

Did you live through Physical abuse? Or Verbal/Mental Abuse?
If you lived through verbal/mental abuse, most state officials don't jump on it right away.
If it was Physical abuse, then Social Services would have taken you out of your home, if there were signs of it. they would have to investigate you and your family.
People care. I don't know where you live, and maybe it was a different time than it is now, but nowadays you spank a kid some people call Social Services...
