  • The banks should have disclosed how the bailout money was used; that's outrageous. But I don't agree that the bailouts were a mistake. Banks are a major part of our economy. If they collapse, so does the economy. We bailed them out so that we wouldn't suffer a worse crisis than we already have.

  • @Ringo84 The government likely could have bailed out the depositors without bailing out the shareholders as well as bailing out the executives and their big fat bonuses. The banks could have been nationalized or at least the common stock been wiped out & bonds exchanged for common stock. Why should someone who owned or ran a bank that caused the crisis be bailed out. I can understand the FDIC-insured depositors being bailed out , but not the bank itself.

  • At 2:14: "...This was a bipartisan effort. Both sides voted for this bailout."

"Both sides not only voted for the bailout, but both sides voted for a bailout

in which there were absolutely no standards for how this money was going to be

    used..."

This of course is a bold faced lie!

    House of Representatives:

    263 for and 171 against

Democrats: 172 FOR and 63 against

Republicans: 91 for and 108 AGAINST

When the news media lies to you, it is to further a political agenda. Be wary.

  • Good point, but in the Senate, the republicans voted in favor of the bailout, 34 to 15.

  • he is 75 here wow he dont look it way to go wayne

  • wow she is 200 plus!!!

  • i don't see how at 2:14 she lied. both sides, did in fact, vote for it. doesn't matter who said yes and who said no. the point is it went through. they aren't debating how many republicans or democrats voted for it, they are debating what happened to the money.

please enlighten me on your thought process

  • He's got a good point, if the small banks are able to survive, then why can't the big banks? There was obviously some stealing of money in there somewhere.

  • Bottom line, I don't trust the banks. If any one is going to be bailed out it should be Chrysler.

  • Real Conservatives voted against it; while far left socialists embraced it immediately. Nonetheless, the statements made in the video were deliberately misleading. Consent was far from unanimous.
