I was at Eric's final show in Peebles as well(Sept 11 2009)
It was very emotional for him but absolutely brilliant!
He sang "Singing the spirit home" straight after the interval-he had promised to sing it for my wife after I asked him back in July in Donegal whilst we were sharing a wee drop of the good Irish stuff! Great man and some craic!!
I will have to go to Oz to see him live from now on!

Go find a copy of "Eric Bogle Live at Stonyfell Winery" - a fine DVD concert recorded around the same time - my favourite concert DVD!

I saw them in edinburgh on final tour also. i now put erics songwriting up there with bob dylan and van morrisons and that for me is the ultimate compliment.

Video good or bad anything Eric does is a wonderful moment and, sadly, he is leaving the stage. Smart move to leave on top---he will be missed. Insights and melodies. It does not get better. than that.
