Please watch in normal mode.HQ mode doesnt work!
Dont know why. Never before used Movie maker, have no eperience!

This is an example from "Sumi Jo 101" This is a Collection, consisting out of 6 CD's.
Currently there is only a korean Version available.
Its available at yesasia.com. Costs less than you would expect ;-)
It contains most of Sumi's crossover records and a lot of classic concert recordings.
Hope you enjoy it!

I like this recording very much. It is a little bit faster and more jazzy than most others, but nevertheless has this sweet romantic and poetic touch that is so important for this beautiful melody. I also like Laura Fygi's version. I dont want to compare, both are different and I like both!

  • Beside the xylophone-like thing going on, what a lovely song this is! I don't know how to specify.. perhaps classical + jazz + pop? The way she sings the song seems to incorporate different styles and elements. The innocence of Astrud Gilberto, liltingness of Sarah Brightman, playfulness of Silje Nergaard, and yet very herself, Sumi Jo.

  • Hi,

so far I know, the orchestra is the "Budapest Film Orchestra". Pro's that are able to play any style and to play it well ...

Sumi Jo made this crossover recordings after an evening dinner where a Warner manager was there too. She performed some songs as she always does and the next day he called and said: Ok, you are an Opera singer, but we have to release a CD with these songs....

  • hey ! it doesnt sound a like her?

  • Me too I really love it- she is a famous classical singer- a diva; me I love that song and looking for simular- can anybody gives me an advice please?

  • uhh i like it^^

  • Gee, you lack a lot of knowledge. That song was sung already by 'The Mamas and the Papas' in the 50s, (and by others even earlier) and that sound you called xylophone-like is a vibraphone.
