The Curio Cowboys performing "Crazy Arms"
A Tribute to the Great Ralph Mooney
Little did we know four weeks to the day that steel guitar giant Ralph Mooney would pass away, that we would want to pay our respects to the man who contributed so much to the sound of Wynn Stewart, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. As it happened, four of the members of the Curio Cowboys were setting up and waiting for others to come rehearse and we decided to warm up by playing "Crazy Arms." This recording (on a Zoom) is of Tom Walker on drums (drum, actually), Robert Rambo on guitar, Jay Rosenblum on bass, and me, John Feldman, with my 1961 Sho-Bud Permanent Steel Guitar (6 pedals, pre-knees).
Ralph Mooney, you brought a lot of pleasure to this world!
