Utah Saints made an impressive comeback this year, following a decade or so of lower-profile projects and difficulties with record labels that saw several of their LPs stuck in limbo. When they first shot to fame in the early '90s on Pete Tong's FFRR label, they bridged the gap between underground rave and mainstream pop, sampling the likes of Annie Lennox and Kate Bush (on Something Good - which has been one of the biggest tracks of the year in its remixed Van She form).
Today, their stunning DJ sets encompass fidget house, electro, breaks, D&B, hip-hop and all inbetween, as witnessed on their superb Freshtraxxx 3 CD for Fingerlickin' earlier this year. They invited us up to Edinburgh to see them play at Cabaret Voltaire, where they've been hosting their Sugarbeat Club party for some 6 years now...
