How important is flexibility in dance? Must a dancer spend hours stretching every week? Most forms of dance (especially ballet) demands great body control, range of motion, and places severe stress on the body. In addition to injury prevention and developing the ability to hold your body in the correct positions, flexibility is essential as an aesthetic and virtuostic element, especially in performance and competition!

We are starting a series of video clip compilations, demonstrating the use of flexibility in dance. This first video contain excerpts from V and T Dance's 2011 Spring Showcase. You will see examples of leg extensions, high kicks, developes, arabesques, penches, splits, split leaps (jetes), straddle moves, back bends, front/back walkovers, etc.
