This video is from a story done by Channel 4 News in Detroit. A complete self-install system that is COMPLETELY passive. I contacted channel 4 Detroit after seeing a story they did on a carjacking. I knew we had the answer for this problem with this system, which received patent protection last year. A little about our product:
Forced Ignition's patented disabling system will automatically stop the car within a short distance if stolen, and still allows steering and braking so the vehicle can be safely pulled to the side of the road. Whether you are warming up your car on a cold morning, shopping in the mall, sleeping in your bed, or even carjacked at a red light -- rest assured that your vehicle is protected with the same technology that is trusted by law enforcement.
This system comes with a "reflector" which you keep on your person at all times. By having the reflector on your person, you will be authorized by the Forced Ignition System to drive the vehicle. If you are carjacked or if an unauthorized person takes your car, Forced Ignition will safely disable the vehicle a short distance away from the reflector.
1/4 mile maximum range
Can be self-installed
Double-encrypted code cannot be scanned or "swiped"
Patented technology (received patent protection in 2006)
No buttons to push, calls to make or codes to input; it works independently!

No, each reflector is programmed to work with the specific system installed in the vehicle, or as a package when purchasing the initial unit.

lol! that anti-theft system is such a piece of cake! if the thief runs 1/4 mile away from you and the vehicle stops i think he will know what to do.. just rip off the receiver of the car! so if a thief wants to steal your car he will do it!

Thanks for the comment-Unfortunately for the thief, if he rips off the receiver, it still won't start! We thought of that also.

here is a catch 22, if i go looking for my vehicle and bring the reflector, the criminal can drive away from me again... if i don't bring the reflector i can't start my car...

Thanks for the comment-while you do make a good point, the general thought is that the bad guy will not stay inside of a stolen vehicle that won't start until the owner shows up so they can drive away again.
