Yes BoA is one of the most impressive singers in Asia, I also enjoy different types of music like Chinese, Korean, Japanese, spanish etc...

But just because the government controls the country it doesn't mean the society in each country are like the government that run it. People always have different perspective and some determine by influences or there own way of finding there own enlightment of the truth of wisdom and knowledge individuals seek in there own path of maturity.

I love boa. I am American and I have been listening to asian musc for a long long time. I must say that I love her korean music the best. I know everyone wishes that her american songs where more to her korean songs but they have to change it so that people in the states will want to listen to it even do boa already had a lot of fans in america.
