Consider for a moment. This video was made in 1980. No other singer would have dressed as Pierrot and sunk into a black sea. There was absolutely nothing comparable to it. And it retains its brilliance.

Suddenly a lot of the random stuff in the Ashes to Ashes TV series (which is awesome) makes a bit more sense. That weird clown popping up everywhere, for example.
