Self-built atmospheric nitrogen laser running on air without full reflection mirror on the back (emission on both sides of the laser).
Laser frequency can be heard (not every single emission was captured because of the camera´s framerate).
The emission is brighter as on the video.
Power supply is a flyback transformer driven by a 555 timer IC on about 10khz.

  • Hello, if you want more peak power on your laser make preionisation electrodes and you have 10 times more output power. show my nitrogen laser on youtube " swissrocketman340"

    The design shown in this video already uses preionisation:

    Before emission a creeping discharge occurs on the surface of the dielectric because of lower inductivity and resistance.

    I know that preionistion electrodes can augment power but building this Laser for fundamental research purposes I used this simple design.
