This video demonstrates how equations can be rearranged, using some examples from the AS Physics course.

The two rules to remember are:
* if you do something (add, multiply, square root etc.) to the left hand side of an equation you must do it to the right hand side as well
* anything divided by itself is 1. (e.g. X/X = 1)

  • Thanks this was really useful. these are the type of things you begin to forget when you get to uni

  • Thanks, I finally figured out how to solve this type of equation. It would have helped if someone would have pointed out the fact that on the right side of the equation, first, the denominator has to be totally removed or cancelled out, leaving only the original numerator on the right side of the equation before any further solving.

  • thanks i understand this at the age of 11

  • I found this very easy to understand. How do I rearrange an equation which includes pi? E.g. A = 3πEkm3? I know how to rearrange the rest, just unsure on the rules regarding pi. Particularly the preceeding number, does that imply a multiplication on pi?

  • cheers bro
