This was my first track day for 2012, first time at Oulton Park and first track day in the car after installing Intrax 1K2 suspension and rebuilding the LSD over the holidays. I ran the car on street tyres because of the cold/wet conditions on the day but the changes have definitely provided more grip. This was my first opportunity to get a feel for the new setup and begin experimenting with the damping. The car felt great and when I had a 'moment' at about min 7:30 the behaviour wasn't so snappy that it couldn't be caught. My first impression: Well pleased! I also really enjoyed driving Oulton Park, I can see why so many people like it and I look forwards to getting to know it better with my R-888s fitted.

  • Hi Mate, is your car a 3.4? whats the spec (apart from the suspension mods)? Also, what mileage is the car at (has it had a rebuild)? just bought a 98 C2 with a little over 100K and trying to get a feel for its suitability for track days - the car runs really well but i am a little concerned about the negative stuff on the web/forums.I obviously dont want to grenade the engine. Lastly, what steering wheel do you use - the standard one is just a little too big for me.

Yes it's a standard 3.4 with 80K, no rebuild but I did upgrade the IMS bearing to ensure that wasn't a problem and I added a 3rd radiator to keep things cooler on the track. Brakes are standard disks/rotors with track pads. Momo 350mm steering wheel. It's done 18 track days in 16 months and with regular oil changes its been fine.

  • @oz951 Cheers dude, thanks for the prompt response. Did you look at a low temp themostat? ps good driving!

  • @petesky76 Yes it has a low temp thermostat as well. Cheers.

  • Thanks, not sure what the Lotus was running though, sorry.
