I've always thought Cyndi Lauper had a phemonenal voice (which she does), but this is kinda lame. She's obviously out of her element and not convincing at all that she knows anything about blues music or singing it. Sorry.

any one wanna see a woman of the same age blow cyndie lauper off the stage, take a look at this video on youtube of chuck berry at the age of 60 and etta james. a full cast of real proffessionals. live with no bum notes. etta NAILS every part of this song. powerfull, no fake over acted emotion, just raw blues vocals.

@EarnestSpeaker She sounds like my mum singing. etta james or tina turner at that age could embarras her. when you compare her to other proffesional singers who have had a seroius carreer in that genre, its a joke. the usual amature, over emotional, middle aged white woman giving blues a go.

i dont judge music by the number of grammys it wins, or by the number of records it sells. cliff richard can sell millions of records. who cares.

any one can stand up and tell jokes but only certain people have the right feel to pull off certain styles. it wasnt that she was out of tune or that she cant sing, its just not her style. bb king shouldnt try singing her stuff. it just wouldnt work. she should stick to singing this in the shower and her more suited stuff on stage
