Underwater video from my Seafox ROV (Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle). A CCTV camera is mounted inside and the ROV is powered by six 12 volt 1100 GPH (Gallons Per Hour) bilge pumps.

Two 12 volt car batteries connected in series (24 volts) are required to power the bilge pumps because of voltage drop through the 100 foot tether, which is made up of Cat5 cable and 18 gauge wire. A simple control box with toggle switches is used to turn off and on each pump, along with a switch for the 50 watt bulb aboard the ROV.

The ROV frame is made of 1/2" PVC piping, the 3" PVC piping on the top with end caps is water tight and provides flotation while the 1" PVC piping at the bottom holds the ballast. I use metal washers on each top corner to fine tune the buoyancy for fresh and salt water. Most materials can be bought at Home Depot, the bilge pumps came from Canadian Tire.
