Just a short video showing how to upgrade the RAM in an Asus Eee PC. Hopefully this video will help those with other models as well. If you have any questions, please ask! I'm not much of a techie, but I do know a little bit.

  • Is there anything else you have to do before or after installing the ram? Like change any settings? I saw for you it just accepted it automatically, but I read in some review that the person had to change something in Bios. I'm a novice at this, have never upgraded anything myself, but if it's as easy as it seems in your video, I think I could do that.

  • @GroovySprite From what I've read, if you have the option to disable the Boot Booster at the BIOS screen, do that. If not, just try upgrading the RAM and if nothing happens, just put in the old RAM. I didn't have the option to do so, so I just went ahead and did the upgrade.

  • @PaleoSteno Thanks, I can google how to do that. :) Do you think this ram I saw on Amazon would work -- Corsair 2 GB DDR3 Laptop Memory CMSO2GX3M1A1333C9?

  • @GroovySprite That should work, I think.

  • @GroovySprite I bought the same RAM type as you (Corsair FTW!!), installed it and it fits perfectly!! Hope it helps you :D

  • @PaleoSteno Sure thing man! Thanks again, i simply cant thank you enough!

  • @Ulikazu That would be neat, though I'm not sure if I want an intro to my videos or not, but if I ever do, I'll be sure to contact you! :D

  • @PaleoSteno Hey man! Reporting back from said computer :)

I managed to get it on...But one corner (the one right by the screw) Is up by just a half-full milimeter out. It aint much, but still noticeable.

As a thank you, i can make you an Intro :)

  • @Ulikazu Eep, that doesn't sound good. :/ Is it just loose? Just try your best to fit the cover back on and screw it back as tight as you can. Just try to make sure the cover isn't jutting out at all... if it's still loose, use some masking tape or something so it won't fall off.

  • Now you know what? I broke 2 pieces on the long side, and i Think it will be loose now. Also, I CANT GET THE COVER ON!!! Please help...
