  • We weren't talking about music or fretboard theory or anything to do with it. We're talking about his guitar - it's not tuned to any particular pitch and it's not even tuned to itself which is VERY cool anyway. This man IS history and tells it's own story. No criticism was intended or implied so get a life numbnuts and try it straight next time. I found out all I needed to know about you just by reading your homepage.

  • No need to analize this sweet man...I'm from Mississippi too just a good ways south from Avalon and would rather be up next to him than most folks I ever met. Maybe nobody ever read this and that dont matter much but wantin anyone out there who respects this man and his beauty to know that I do too and very, very much. He makes my heart sing and break with whats comin from him and on back to me and most of yall too. Thank You for appreciatin him.

  • I guess 7 persons doesn't use their feeling at all,,,,,

  • You can't compare John to anybody. He was strictly his own dude doing his own thing.

  • Some of these people know what they're talking about. This is

delta blues at it's best. I like Mance Lipscomb but Hurt is the

best guitar guy. Ya just gotta love these tunes. He and Ledbelly.

  • I love this !

  • @june4783 You are 100% right!!

  • @DireStraitsInImpala i was thinking the exact thing. The think he probably is a better guitarist than J.J. though.

  • The voice reminds me of JJ Cale.

  • O inconfundível Mississippi John Hurt!!!!

  • He performed at the the Ontario Place coffeehouse in the early '60s. I sat as close to him as I could to learn his finger picking style. I still play his songs...

  • Let us all enjoy the music, the effect on the listener, the heartfelt honesty, and sincerity,it really has the power to move people and surely that is the purpose of music.
