HIT Standards Committee: Health Information Exchange and the Challenges Ahead

Meaningful Use Stage 1 requires a number of healthcare information exchanges for care coordination, public health and quality reporting. It also requires privacy protection and security technology. The HIT Standards Committee advises the Office of the National Coordinator on the selection of standards and certification criteria to accelerate these data exchanges. Meaningful Use Stages 2 and 3 will require even more data sharing. In this webinar, we will review the health information exchange work to date and the challenges ahead.
