Hello Raging; " I mean so as not to" change the front drive wheel assy.
-
Hello Raging; I'm not exactly sure what i'm looking at in your vid but i'm hoping to do my own conversion as well. I have a sentra B12, and would like to put in a toyota 4age engine, but retaining the sentra transmission and axle so as to change the front drive wheel assy. All I know is that this could be possibly done by setting up an adapter plate for the sentra tranny bell housing. But my question is, what about the main drive going to the flywheel? Hope u can help.

I used 3m rubberized undercoating, it sprayed on very easy.

You will have to research whether the bell housing mounting surfaces are the same, I will almost bet they are not. When you do a conversion, you really need to find this out. Custom adapters are very expensive. I am not your go to guy on the Jap. cars. But I would bet it would be much easier to make a engine/transmission swap as a assembly(all Toyota), custom drive axles would be much more cost effective. Our conversion was easy because the factory had it as a option. RESEARCH before you commit

cost?

@LawlessXx The donor car was free from a friend that was moving, he had bought it for $500 without engine. We scored there. It came with a lakewood bell housing, saginaw 4 speed, pedals, drive shaft and a hurst shifter. I robbed parts from another hurst shifter from my old 64 olds. I bought a new GM 15 lb. flywheel for $180 and a ram clutch assembly for a $160, 2 u-joint for $15 each. I spent $20 on a gasket kit for the trans. $25 for seam sealer & under coat. Looks like $400 total. labor $0

@LawlessXx Check out our latest videos, we did a lot of horse trading and built us a new 370 CI engine and a tremec tko 600 trans. since this video was published.

Performance cars simply shouldn't come with autos in the first place, good job.

@RidX4Ricers Ours wasn't, check out our other video, "Evolution of Cales Camaro" even the Z-28 of 79 wasn't much of a performance car in those years:
