Nice posting, especially the lack of video to screw up the audio. I would also recommend "Carnegie Hall X-Mas '49, Charlie Parker and the Stars of Modern Jazz." Recorded Dec. 25, 1949, it wonderfully perversely has no Christmas music on it. I don't know what happened during the concert, but the disc has no song, solo or mention of the holiday except from Symphony Sid. CD also features bands headed by Miles Davis, Bud Powell, Stan Getz, Lennie Tristano, Lee Konitz and Sarah Vaughan.
Thats K D for sure.
Miles never had that tone and frazing and andand.....

It does not get any better than this...sure it isn't Miles on trumpet, though? If not- just more proof of Kenny Dorham's under-rated excellence!

Now this is a Christmas present! What a group!? Dorham is one of the most underrated trumpet players from that time. Parker is just great.
