it's been a while since i've felt like this
i hope it's no coincidence
that you're the only person on my mind when we're in chemistry
and we can hang on the weekends

all our classes are the same
and even though i'm sure you're smarter
i sometimes find that you're insane because you make everyday harder
and i can tell when you're just trying to get under my skin
because force of habit keeps me from making sure you don't get it

and i don't mind that i've gone into this blind
because i trust that you'll make sure i'll be fine
and i'll always try to make something good from your bad days
because i know that maybe you would do the same

it's okay to cry sometimes
i want you to know i'm by your side, i'm by your side
and maybe we'll all be lucky enough
to wind up with the ones we love
even if it's just for a while

i don't mind that we never found the time
because i know that we'll eventually get this right
