Any beef roast however, each cut of beef has it's own flavor. We prefer chuck roast or a rump roast. Any type potatoes will do and any size carrots are fine. Red onions are sweet whereas yellow or brown onions are not. Either will do. This can be done in a pot on the stove if it's cover is tight or in oven at 350 degrees for several hours. The lower the temperature the longer it must cook. The slower the cooking time the more tender the beef. Don't try to get it done quickly so this is good for a cold day to heat the house from the oven. I love my dutch oven which is black cast iron and more than 50 years old. They just don't wear out.

  • We enjoy and thank you for all the kind messages. We hope to get more videos recorded on line soon. My Flip video is outdated so i just haven't recorded anything new. Guess i need to 'get over it' and get going. Love to you all. Peggy and Ron

  • So adorable :-)

  • @bslove1016 How sweet.. i hope you enjoy your crock pot as we do. We bought a fresh chicken yesterday and put in in the crock pot without water and after the full day it was done! Tender too. We cooled it and placed in the fridge.. tonight we shredded the breast with a fork and made Chicken tacos! Delivious. Tomorrow we will cook all the rest with some water, celery and carrots for a good chicken soup. Oh, Ron has eaten the legs for lunch ealier in the day too!

Hope you enjuoy your new 'toy'.

  • You two are a beautiful match. May your lives together be as happy as your smiles! Take care and Happy Holidays.

  • @Family1stMakeup4ever Thanks so much for your sweet comments

  • So glad you are trying one of our favorite dishes. We love brussel sprouts as well... and mushrooms for sure... even though our son Matt won't touch them.

I don't use a premixed pot roast seasoning (did I???) Never have as I find that salt, pepper and a bit of garlic powder are usually enough.. I love all the suggestions and comments.
