*palm through face* lol. Look into reformatting and/or upgrading your components such as RAM(which is most common) or CPU and MOBO which may end up with new RAM anyway. But at that point, you might as well just build your own PC. You can build a tower with a 3-4 core AMD CPU, 4gbs RAM, 320gb HDD, etc tower for 200 bucks with either Linux or pirated version of Windows.

Fill your computer full of pudding. It will work better and faster than a computer with an OC'd i7, SSD HD, 4way 690 GTX SLI and 32gb of RAM. True story......

Not all computers shops are like this but people who go to honest ones have to realize they pay for our knowledge even though some techs take advantage of that. I rather not charge for something minor like a loose cable to get 10 customers in return from that customer referral..:>
