Dead Space: Extraction (720p HD) Walkthrough Part 32 - Extraction Site Challenge

I cover the entirety of the "Extraction Site" challenge in this video.

Welcome to Challenge Mode! It's non-stop Necromorph neutralizing from here on out. I have no idea whether or not the Impossible difficulty mode option influences scoring in any way, but I'm going to complete all challenges of the Challenge Mode of Dead Space: Extraction on that difficulty anyways.

This first challenge is easy since you only have to deal with simple Slashers and Leapers, but the challenges rapidly become more difficult.

Grabs (like the one I very narrowly avoided at 3:08) are particularly annoying in Challenge Mode. If you get grabbed, there is a good chance that you'll take some damage before you manage to knock the offending creature off. While I don't know precisely how the scoring works, I do know that taking damage hinders your score. Fortunately, all (or at least nearly all) grabs can be canceled with a successful attack (such as from the Flamethrower, Line Gun, Ripper or Force Gun) AND some enemy types (such as the Leapers) telegraph that they are about to grab you. Both of those facts should help you avoid/mitigate grabs and avoid ruining your kill streak.

If you like, you can use other Weapons on this challenge, but I find that the Line Gun is perfect for rapidly ridding of the arms of Leapers and Slashers.

If you use the Flamethrower, remember that Stasis is a big help here. Besides slowing an enemy down, Stasis allows the damaging effects of extant flames to pile up while the enemy is helpless to retaliate. You should always use the automatically recharging Stasis to your advantage, but it's particularly useful with the Flamethrower.

@twentylemon If I remember correctly, I think I was slightly drunk when I did this video, so I had a hard enough time playing well for even that long. The video is not perfect (with the most obvious flaws being the hit and all subsequent parts), but it did pass the maximum score and that was good enough for me.
