I found the software to convert my Sony MiniDV to digital. This is my US129 Tail of the Dragon run. I have a RAM mount on the GL1800's engine guard and a Sony DCR-HC21 cam running. This is what is captured ... all those twisty turns.

Enjoy.

  • You're either riding right at your limit or just past it. I would back it down a notch til you can get into an advanced riding course. I would suggest you look into one of Lee Park's courses.

You're in the wrong gear and you are over reacting to the dragging of the pegs. You should not be reacting to the pegs dragging. You should be used to it by now, or you shouldn't be running that hard on that road. You're running a very high risk of getting somebody hurt.

  • @DJFireUSA Hi DJFireUSA, I would enjoy any riding course as I'm always looking to improve. I do react to the pegs scraping as it isn't a regular event for me. I don't feel I was pushing any limits and given some of the riding I saw I have to strongly disagree with your comment that I'm "running a very high risk of getting somebody hurt". ... "very high"? My riding is that erratic?

  • You said it yourself... you react to scraping your pegs. That alone tells me you are riding beyond your level. When you expect them to drag and the noise is no longer something that causes you to alter your riding suddenly, THEN you can safely run that road at those speeds.

Until you get some higher skill training, you will continue to disagree with me. That's ok

I did not make my comment to down you, but to send a concern for your safety. I run that road much more often and harder than you do

  • @DJFireUSA Hello, you interpret my saying reaction to scraping pegs as a negative. My reaction is I'm close to the limit of the motorcycle. I didn't and don't panic and I didn't alter my riding. I have no loss of control and never felt out of control hearing a little scraping.

Your comments are degrading me because you are implying I'm a danger which I take personally given my high regard for my safety and the safety of others on the road.

Safe travels - to each their own.

    JSS

  • nice vid, but you got the same engine noise as me when you take up the power, doesnt it aggravate? haha, i thought my gears were dying when i had the wing, but seems most 1800's have this sound.

  • It is that Honda flat six noise. The Honda V-4 has a unique tone as well ... very Honda. It doesn't bother me ... the radio is great turned up.

    Take care.

  • Gotta love riding the dragon on the back of a Goldwing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @jssiler - All due respect, as long as you are reacting to your pegs draggin, you are riding beyond your limit and you are a danger to yourself and others around you. I alread said you will not agree with me until you get some higher training.

Since you are so dedicated to safety, when did you take your last BRC, ERC, or ARC ??

Search for Lee Park's Total Control and I also HEAVILY suggest the Ride Like A Pro course!!!

  • @jssiler - Reacting to peg scraping is a negative. I never said you lost control and you stated yourself that scraping your pegs is not a regular thing for you so you pushing the machine to the point of scraping pegs on that road is endangering yourself and those around you.

As I said earlier, until you get some higher training, you will continue to disagree with me and that's fine.

Since you mentioned your dedication to safety, I must ask, when did you take a BRC, ERC or ARC last?

  • I just finished shoveling 4 inches of snow out my driveway and porch ...

    I MISS RIDING GOLDWING!!!

Happy New Year and have a safe 2010 riding season!

  • thanks for the up, thanks for the invite too. :)
