Try and put this song in a "category". Totally unique band, so you're going to love them or hate them. I've always loved them.

I don't think it's extravagant to describe Ian as a musical genius - this song being one piece of incontrovertable evidence amongst many.

As a Tull fan for nearly 40 years who's seen every line up since the Aqualung one, I would say that you're definitely right.

I was lucky enough to be there and caught them on this tour in Aberdeen in a theatre/cinema in 1977. It was absolutely fabulous and Ian opened the set by just walking on stage and started to play Skating Away. Sheer magic!! I have been a Tull fan since 1968 and raved about them so much I was known as Jethro. I saw them in 1996 and on the Roots to Branches tour. Am currently learning to play Salamander with the help of Siggi Mertens and Jack Hicko - I turn 60 in a few months Rock On!!
