Interview with Osvaldo Golijov, discussing writing for the Passion genre. Sir Colin Davis's second week of concerts is devoted to a new work co-commissioned by the BSO and the London Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish composer James MacMillans St. John Passion. Sir Colin requested this major work from one of his favorite contemporary composers in part to commemorate the conductors own 80th birthday; he led the premiere in London in April 2008. These are the American premiere performances. For tickets visit http://www.bso.org

  • Ty ty for the opportunity to share Golijov

  • Bisset never had gone to Spain when he composed the Opera Carmen. I was raised Catholic, and it is an honor what Maestro Golijov has accomplished. Maestro Golijov is a great Latin American, and he is a proud member of the great Latin American tribe. He stands tall with Dudamel, Maestro Abreu, Bernenboim, Juan Diego Flores and many others. BRAVO!!!

  • Golijov's St. Mark Passion is a beautiful piece.
