WONG:
Protests continue in Bangkok, Thailand today. Thousands of anti-government protesters are leaving their posts outside the country's Government House to move to the Prime Ministers new temporary offices at Bangkok's old airport.

STORY:
Thousands of anti-government protesters led by the People's Alliance for Democracy or PAD left the Government House before dawn.

For months the marchers have blockaded parliament and forced it to postpone an important legislative session. Now they are vowing to surround the city's old airport where the cabinet has run the country since demonstrators occupied the Government House in May.

[Chaiwat Sinthuwong, PAD Leader]:
"We not only stop the government from doing their illegitimate works. We are doing other things to put more pressure on the government, and campaigning to get more consensus from Thai people that it is time for this government to leave.

A threatened nationwide strike by public sector unions appeared to start slowly, with no reports of major delays in road, rail or air services.

Any serious disruptions will likely deepen the economic impact of Thailand's long-running political crisis.

  • FREE ELECTIONS For THE THAI PEOPLE!

The present 'PRIME MINISTER' ABHISit was never elected. In fact the party in power now was never elected!!! Miltary dictatorships stink.

  • 9 out of 10 PM in thailand are chinese fool

only one country in the world that chinese oversea are first class citizen they are rich wealth powerful in polictic military police etc.lol chink world

  • Isn't all developing countries count as third world since they not developed countries hence can't be first world and second world are for communist states. You link to third world being negative rather than other is misleading.

  • half in ethnic not ethnicity Chinese.

  • ne laise pas les chinois devenir pm

si un chinois devient pm la thailande devient comme killig field au canbodge

  • hahaha, the PM also is Chinese, Thaksin is Chinese, and you are probably Chinese too. It's all a Chinese world now. Silly Thais.

  • What did somchai do wrong ? it's time to search for a new job somchai, you're being laid off ;))

  • It is so embarrassing that Priminister doesn't speak english, nowadays almost 2009....please get out don't keep Thailand look out of the world circle

  • PAD members are filled with fascists, militarists, monarchists, ultra-nationalists, and disgusting upper and middle-class snobs who want to suppress and oppress the rural poor in Thailand (which accounts for the majority of the population). This is a class warfare. The King and the royal family is clearly NOT on the side of the poor; they don't trust the poor. The People's Alliance for Democracy is the most ironic name for a fascist organization that seeks to take away votes from the poor.

  • Sorry racist, but foreigners cannot own land in Thailand, so you're wrong. As usual, Thais don't accept criticism and always try to blame everything on foreigners. Your country is fucked up because of this way of thinking. Accept reality. Thailand is a third world country and corruption will keep it that way. It has NOTHING to do with foreign influence.
