Bickleton, the Bluebird Capital of the World, is the summer home of not one but two sub-species of these colorful, singing avifauna: the completely blue Mountain Bluebird and the red-breasted Western Bluebird. Even if you are more of a curve watcher than an ornithologist, you'll probably be happy when you land at this, the only hamlet on this remote and scarcely traveled road. That's because before B-ton, the only serious twisties you see on the scruffy plains east of Goldendale are the ones on the short excursion down into and up out of Rock Creek's canyon. North of Bluebird City however, the road is well-feathered with curves, flitting through the dryland and wheat fields of the Horsepower Heaven Hills before commencing a wonderful, twisty, screaming dive into the orchards and sage flats of the Yakima Valley. Pavement is mixed but acceptable while Engineering is generally good. With long, lonely straightaways on the first half and great turns on the second, we can see this DH attracting migrating songbirds of a different note — say yellow, blue or red-breasted CBR 1100XX Super Blackbirds.
