  • Is it just me, or do the two small scores at 0:22 and 0:32 sound like an incomplete version of the FFVII main theme? I love how the song gets so epic later, but I can't listen to this song and not hear that first part... @_@; reminds me of Meteor.

  • One of the best songs of any Final Fantasy

  • @YourMasterKoji if you listen to the ff7 songs then go back and listen to any previous final fantasy 90% of those songs have recuring themes beats and chord progressions from a previous version PS ff8 is actually the one that the main conductor Nobuo Uematsu felt he branched out the most with its music as he sought to give more life to the games romantic story.

  • @YourMasterKoji its purposely done, just to mess with ur head, and make u smile if u played enough ff to remember that from 7 lol. i noticed that too along time ago. and i smiled.

  • One of my favourite games, AWESOME SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!! NOBUO UEMATSU IS A GOD!!!!

  • @browncoatkevin compete? this thing walks all over those songs

  • @YourMasterKoji It'snot just you. That is taken right from FFVII

  • There's a part of forested temple at 0:51

  • The best Final Fantasy Boss Theme!!

  • I love this song. Especially at the bit starting from 2:18. I remember this was the first time I summoned Carbuncle, and the music matched up PERFECTLY to him popping out of his hole and looking around.

  • I loved this fighting theme, but the sorceress would just die in one hit, to tell the truth I expected a harder challenge xD

  • One of the supporting stars of the soundtrack - I am still in awe of how cohesive the various themes of FFVIII feel to me, as if they were all composed with one goal in mind: to convey emotion and work like a movie.

Having this track -unaltered- in Dissidia 012 is merely icing on its cake, though it has to compete with The Extreme and Man With The Machine Gun for "best non-DLC FFVIII battle track".
