This is a video product called the Iwakuni Rollout that airs on our local tv station. I shot most of the video with my buddy Brian and edited it together.
I was there in 2004-06 and i remember those guys. I love fukuoka, i went like almost every weekend so i was broke most of the time but IWAKUNI SUCKED though but it was cool because it was mainland japan and we were close to other cities but being a marine over there sucked because of all of the rules we had to follow but all in all, i would go back to japan if i got a chance.
They are deffinately completely correct about the booking in advance, I was forced to walk 2 km with all of my crap with no preperation in a thunderstorm looking for a hotel to stay in... If your willing to stay in a single dingy room you can find lodging as cheap as 40$ as i did. Which is near impossible to get on any weekend
