  • hey,

    i am confused b/w 50mm and 35mm =/

    i have a d5100

and i realllly dont know which one to opt for !

well, i like indoor and well as outdoor photography..

but ill kinda b suffocated with the 50mm indoor i feel,

i tried it out in a local store and it felt lyk looking into a side view mirror of a car "objects are closer than they seem"

can you help me out ?

    35mm 1.8g or 50mm1.8g.......

    thanks

  • @NotNudeDude hands down the 35mm. you won't be upset with your choice. I've gone through the same questions...the 50mm is way too much reach for indoors. and outdoors, I prefer the "wide angle" aspect of the 35 vs. the 50. Trust me...35mm.

I'll be posting a video soon of the 60mm micro lens and you can see how it's harder to frame shots outdoors.

  • will i buy this AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G or the new AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR

    40mm f/2.8G? thanks!

  • @luap627 the new 40mm micro is a great lens for macro shots as well as portrait photography. It gets you up close to your subject. However, the bokeh/adaptability of the 35mm is unsurpassed. If it's your first lens and you tend to take pictures of people, get the 35. leave the 40 for macro work :)

  • Not only a great review but a very well presented review..very classy! and good information as well.thank you friend!

  • @writerman242 thanks for your positive comment! :)

  • @Bigpotatos Don't you lose AF-S and all that other stuff?

  • @sosvocaloid why not? cheaper and better quality than what canon offers, get an adapter ring and good to go

  • DOPE REVIEW! im gettin' this lense!!

  • @Bigpotatos Why the hell would you use a Nikkor lens for a 60D? LOL

  • gonna pick one up for my 60d, the canon 35mm is like 450-500$, ridiculous

  • wow! stunning shots! i will buy 35mm. great review!

  • how is this lens for shooting kids? im gonna have my firstborn in about 1 month.. i will probably be shooting mostly indoors.. will this be a great lens for that? and portrait of my girl as well ;) ive got an D5100

  • I've been shooting 75mm prime for a whole. can't wait to buy this.
