  • Think about your fingering.

  • Jan Hammer looks like a synth beast! If there is any envy it ought to be from the guitarists.

  • @tonyrome67 Hey I love Jan esp. with jeff beck and mahavishnu. But let's face it, he has guitar envy and looks ridiculous.

  • @Bluplirst

Yeah, but who gives a shit about looking cool? It's about the music, not a bunch of tossers who are posing with their guitars!

  • i wanna improve my fingering.

  • 3:28 - The only "real" emotion I've ever seen from him... :D

  • I love Jan, but I'm sure you can do all that on guitar. There is one thing you can do with guitar and not with his keyboard, though; Look cool.

  • He said "practice some SCALES," ya goof.

  • Dude, he said "scales" XD

  • jan's sound was made up of an oberheim xpander AND minimoog in those days. Although the kx-5 probably had a preset that was called guitar lead or whatever, and he probably hsoved it thru a pedal. The rest is all about playign technique. Until i heard his stuff, my soloing on scoring stuff was a bit anodyne, so long live Jan Hammer! :-D
