No, wedding proposals don't "need" to have anything. You could have your girlfriend get eaten by a giant alligator and hide the ring in it's intestines. It's the originality or the mood of it that makes it good.

there's no dictionary definition. it's how you want it to be. a lot of people don't have to say i love you for the other person to know it.

I just saw and it looked like it was a great moment. I wasn't criticizing the guy or mocking him with my comment; I just was asking a question so that when I make the proposal I know how to do it.
