MAX & IAGO -- El cor de la ciutat, ep. 1558

SCENE 1 (Max & Iago's lawyer): Max is talking with Iago's lawyer. The lawyer is quite optimistic: the owner of the house said there was no jewel missing; Iago had no weapon. When he gives back the fallen jacket to the lady at Peris', Max feels he's the target all of the neighbours' gazes.

SCENE 2 (Max & K): Max needs someone to talk to. But K is busy, she can't give him support by this moment. Max gets angry and they both argue.

SCENE 3 (Iago & Lawyer): We finally know why the lawyer is so optimistic: everything depends on the judge's mood, and Iago has just to be polite. Being a good-looking guy will surely be of great help. He tells Iago he's been talking with Max (at Max's request). Iago has no idea of what Max is actually passing through.

SCENE 4 (Max & Eli): Max confesses to Eli (K's friend) he sometimes feels like giving up fighting against his father's indifference and the neighbourhood's gossips. But then, his biological mother, Lali, and Berta, come to his mind: giving up at this state will be like betraying them. They both gave their lives for their sons. Max has to be strong for him and for Iago.

SCENE 4 (Max & Iago): Iago is not convinced to be given parole on Friday. Max supports him once again but, knowing all that Max is passing through because of him, he wants him to give up, to make his own life, finish his studies and find a guy who really deserves him. He doesn't want Max to come everyday and visit him, ruining his own life. If he insists on seeing him every time he comes to the jailhouse, Iago will tell the guard he doesn't want to see Max. Max just can't believe Iago was really meaning it. And they both argue at the end.

April 11th - 1560: We finally know whether Iago is given parole or not. K becomes aware of Max's loneliness.

April 14th - 1561: Iago wants to keep the promise he made to his mother before dying.

April 15th - 1562: Max is not disposed to hide his relationship with Iago.

April 21st - 1566: Beni can't cope with Iago. Today, the provocation is too strong.

April 22nd - 1567: After the day before's big row, Max reacts.

Many thanks Inakitxu. From the other translations it seems Iago gets his parole. Don't they have social workers in Spain to help ex prisoners reintegrate? The only way he's going to keep his promise is to get as far away from Radovan as possible. Radovan actually owes Iago a lot of money. What happened to Jota? What did Radovan do to him? Sorry for so many questions but there are many things unanswered.

On one hand, I believe Iago is not actually a criminal (a high dangerous delinquent), so he doesn't really need a social worker to get reintegrate (IMHO).

On the other hand, I agree with you: there are many things which remain unanswered. Let's see how the story unfolds. Will Iago & Max move away together? (I mean, leave Beni & Max's place and the neighbourhood?)

She's an elderly lady in the program who's suffering from early altzheimers symtoms. Her friends are trying to persuade her to have a lodger so she's not alone. Wouldn't be too happy having to put up with seeing her if Max and Iago do end up living with her.
