Here he gives a quick lesson on how pearls are formed in a single shell and why a lighter comes in handy. Video taken by INQUIRER.net reporter Lawrence Casiraya at the Taboan market in Cebu City.

  • @mbs306 lol is there another way cause i'm not sure if i wanna put that in my mouth lol

  • @MultiTata80 .it says it is made by kalium and somthing else,so yeah u put it in viegar, it wil vanish. vinegar is acid.

  • WTF????? You should change the title!

  • It makes no sense why the title is in English.......fool!

  • Is it real that a very real pearl, melts in vinegar? Does anyone know?

  • eilan8490 shut up you're the dumby

  • what an ignorant way to test a pearls authenticity. heating it literally shortens a pearls life.

  • @BANJOKUZOOIE not really, the pearls are formed when the clam produces layers upon layer of carbon-something onto a foreign object that has invaded it's shell. as more and more layers are formed, it sometimes takes a perfectly round and smooth form. it CAN also be an irregular shape and only like 1 out of 20 are considered acceptable but still

  • Only fakes will cost cheaply. By trying several high end real ones and comparing them to low end retail, you can actually start to feel the quality. I first went to Tiffany and tried on a $7k pearl necklace and then bought a fake one for $20 for everyday use. After trying on the Tiffany, you can tell the ebay $20 is made of glass. Go online and search about real pearls. very informative.
