  • Chen Ting Hung is not the founder of Wudang style because Wudang is a Taoist tradition created at Mount Wudang (<Yuan Dynasty). The Wu style comes from a form taught by Yang Luchan (1799-1872) to Wu jianquan. The secord form of Wu Style - know as the Hao Form - was formulized by a student of Yang Luchan called Wuyxiang (1812-1880). The execution of the Wudang & Wu forms are markidly different, for clear examples of the Wudang style please see Youlihan's videos. Reference: The Dao of Taijiquan

  • Thanks for that, quite interesting, and all correct in itself I’m sure. I suppose a more accurate response would be to say Chen Tin Hung named the style he practiced Wudang/ (Wutan) Style. Given his lineage, who am I to argue ? It is now the name given to the style by the many who practice it.

  • This is Wu style not Wudang Tai chi, Why?

  • Chen Tin Hung is the founder of Wudang style as demonstrated, and his roots lie in part Wu family.
