No doubt there has been an antagonism globally at times between secularism and religiosity of all types.
Further, although difficult for many of us Westerners to understand; there is schism between the Shia and Suni Muslim Sects, even though we have had them within Christendom.

On October 27, there was a conference in Ottawa, organized by the Canada-Israel Committee (CIC) titled Democracy in Action: The Protests in Iran. The CIC conference was attended by the same cast of human rights abusers that masquerade as leaders of the Zionist State, and their apologists in the West. November was even busier for the Zionists. On November 910, there were two conferences, one in Cleveland, Ohio, and the other in Washington, DC. The Cleveland conference was organized by a group calling itself Scholars for Peace in the Middle East. These Scholars for Peace actually advocated war against Iran. The Washington DC conference sponsored by major US Zionist organizations working in conjunction with the Israeli embassy was to be addressed by President Barack Obama but because of the Fort Hood incident, he could not make it. Instead, his Zionist advisors, Rahm Emmanuel and David Axlerod, spoke. It was also addressed by Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, a notorious human rights abuser and war criminal. At the end of the month, a similar conference was organized in Berlin and on December 1, the same warmongers were at work in Vienna, spouting venom against Iran.
