Essentially yes. It's stereo and sensitive enough, but even with a slight breeze or near AC you get unbearable noise. It's also easy to put your finger over the mics when recording since it's so small. You really have to make your own windscreen or dead kitten and cover the mics to use it outside.

The camera does NOT have dual card slots! It has one slot that will accept either a memory stick or an SD card.

It has a couple low light options. I like the hand held twilight mode myself, great quality images for cityscapes at night.

Most of the video was shot with a regular Sony video camera and a blu-tooth mic. The video at the very end was done on the HX5V. I do have a title that pops up at the end to indicate this.
