Ducati Monster 1100 Vs. Harley-Davidson XR1200 Motorcycle Review

In this slice of moto-dom, there are a few different philosophies; Ducatis Monster 1100 represents an Italian school of thought, with eye-catching styling that befits its country of origin. The North American viewpoint is provided by Harley-Davidsons new XR1200, an homage to the most American form of two-wheel motorsport, dirt-track racing. See who comes out on top as America goes head to head with Italy in this Streetfighter Shootout!

  • why so much animosity, everyone?? Isn't it possible to like more than one type of bike? Harleys are not built for speed. To claim that any Harley is "faster" than a Ducati of similar engine displacement is a losing battle. However, that's not what Harleys are designed for. If you want a stylish American cruiser, get a Harley. If you want something with the soul of a sportbike, get a Ducati. They both can be fun to ride for different reasons. Why all the hate?

  • @Patrtickgilligan quit spreading lies. the only way a xr750 would 'slaughter' a i4 1Kcc is in the looks department... and to me it still wouldnt win!!

Yes most of them are.... but not all of us :) I am a very happy individual residing in America...There are some friendly folks in the southern states like Alabama or Missouri, even Texas...but it seems the closer you get to each coast line....West Coast or East Coast, then the jerks and greed start to surface. I live in California near the West Coast and there are a lot of unhappy and greedy jerks all around me. That creates stress...their chances of living longer are not as good

I know right? A Harley is a fine tuned machine built for cruising... and enjoying yourself... enjoying the scenery going by at a reasonable speed...not blurring by at 200 mph seeing nothing and knowing that hitting something in the road would be the end of you...I am one for cruising... and what better bike to cruise on than a harley... You have all that low end torque...and for me 65 is plenty fast...70 on the freeway... I want to enjoy the scenery and not wind up in a bodybag

  • @mandaltby

AMEN to that.... Nothing like the feeling of being out on the open road on a bike...Especially when you are riding through mountain roads with huge red woods on either side of you or riding the 101 in California up or down the coast line.... AWESOME!!!!!!

Where I live in California, we have the biggest trees in the world...The Sequoia Red wood trees.. then we have the beach about 2 hours away....We have the best of both worlds...and the bike is on the road everyday for me... :)

  • where is the review?
