Kyoto Station http://www.japanvisitor.com/index.php?cID=427&pID=1640 designed by Japanese architect Hiroshi Hara opened in 1997 to celebrate the 1,200th anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto (Heian-kyo) as the capital of Japan. The huge station building certainly has its critics but the soaring interior includes a hotel, a museum, the Isetan department store, a tourist information office and scores of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. At the top of Kyoto Station on the 15th floor is the Sky garden and Happy Terrace with views out over the city on a clear day.
Kyoto Station connects Kyoto to Tokyo by Shinkansen and there are also trains to Kansai International Airport, Nara, Maibara, Fukuchiyama and Osaka. Kyoto Station is also on the Kyoto subway and is a major bus terminus for both long-distance and local buses.
Lovely to see Kyoto station again. Only part you didn't show was the food court underground so I hope you get a video of that.
